FAQ

PLC Hardware’s Commitment to Authentic products

At PLC Hardware, we strongly support the integrity of authorised supply channels and understand the importance automation manufacturers place on channel compliance. However, it is important to clarify that PLC Hardware procures products through vetted distribution partners who source from authorised channels across Asia.

Supplier Integrity and Commitment:
Every supplier partnering with PLC Hardware is required to sign a formal declaration confirming that they will only supply products sourced via authorised channels. This policy is non-negotiable, and suppliers are fully aware that we do not accept quotes for products from unauthorised sources, except in rare cases involving hard-to-source or obsolete parts—where authorised sourcing is no longer feasible.

Confidence in Product Authenticity:
We stand behind the authenticity and quality of the products we sell so confidently that we offer a 2-year warranty on all PLC Hardware items. This warranty far exceeds typical industry standards and demonstrates our commitment to customer trust and satisfaction.

Rigorous Quality Control Protocols:
If a part is received damaged or suspected to be non-genuine, we initiate a comprehensive non-conformance report to investigate the incident with the supplier. Repeat violations lead to immediate removal from our vendor list, ensuring ongoing compliance and accountability.

Tiered Supplier Reliability System:
PLC Hardware maintains a high-performance vendor ecosystem. Our Tier 1 suppliers are primary partners offering competitive pricing and consistent availability. Tier 2 suppliers serve as dependable backups when Tier 1 partners don’t have access to requested inventory—ensuring resilient sourcing without compromise.

We respect the position of local authorised automation companies on warranty voiding for non-genuine components and assemblies. That’s precisely why our internal processes are built to mirror and uphold those standards, protecting our customers and maintaining full transparency in our sourcing strategy.

Those same authorised suppliers should also acknowledge the right of users to source their automation hardware at a fair price from whomsoever they choose.

Statement on Buyer’s Rights in Automation Procurement:

As automation users operating within the bounds of Australia's fair trade principles, we affirm our right to source products at a fair and competitive price from suppliers of our choosing—regardless of geographic origin. The modern global marketplace, facilitated by online platforms, empowers us with unprecedented access to vendors worldwide, enabling informed decisions based on value, quality, and suitability for purpose.

While the nature of industrial automation hardware differs from consumer goods purchased via platforms like eBay, the principle of buyer's choice remains universal. Australian fair trade policies do not obligate citizens or businesses to purchase exclusively from local companies, nor do they restrict access to international markets offering more suitable terms.

Furthermore, buyers who take reasonable care to verify the authenticity and compliance of the products they procure should not be coerced or penalised through threats of voided warranties or diminished support. If products are genuine, certified, and meet necessary standards, then warranty protections should remain intact, irrespective of sourcing origin.

We advocate for transparent and equitable access to the global supply chain, ensuring automation stakeholders—whether individuals or enterprises—retain the autonomy to procure products that best meet their operational needs. Fair pricing should reflect fair competition, not geographical restriction or exclusionary practices.
